Ok so where do you guys keep your beads left over from projects or that you open and realize it doesn't work for the project. I have sooooo many beads and they are covering my work table! I cant seem to figure out where and how best to store them so they can be easily accessible! So tempted to just DUMP them in the trash but of course I can not do that every time I start a project! I want to be able to use something recyclable versus going out and buying new containers and need it to be space conscious since my work space is rather small (folding card table for now)!
What do you do?

Oh my, that mess makes my stomach hurt! The left brained CPA here only takes out only the beads I'm going to use and I'll keep taking out and putting back beads until I get the right mix to make something. I never have loose beads laying around - makes me queezy! Yeah, I know, I need therapy!
As I was about to leave a comment on your blog to your answer - I thought a better idea would be to write a blog for all to read - hope this helps!!!

okay for storage, go green.
recycle juice cans, small jars, as well make yourself a hanging rank for strands.
if you'd like info, drop me a note and I'll point you to the pics of my old and new workspaces - which went through more than you could imagine.
I also have some vids to help organize your workspace.
I use containers that I buy from CraftWarehouse...not very green...but stackable! other than that...I make myself clean off my desk about every two week to put away all the random beads left over from various projects.
i would hae suggested osmething like magdalene jewels--i get little dividers at the fabric store (they are for embroidery floss...same kind of boxes as she showed though)
they're see-through enough that i know what is where, and that helps a lot. :)
Unique, look at the pics in this post: http://storybeader.blogspot.com/2009/01/diy-wind-chimes.html
That's what I do. You can by these containers at any craft store. I got mine at Hobby Lobby.
If you're wanting recycled stuff...baby food jars are always good. They are small and see through.
If you want to buy something...a small fishing/tackle box works well too. They have so many compartments and sometimes have clear versions as well.
Oh...and tictac boxes...those work great too :)
3 words. Baby food jars.

oh that looks familiar! I usually can't be bothered to put away excess beads RIGHT after finishing a project, however about once a month I do a complete cleaning/organizing of my space. It really has to be done before things get TOO out of control...good luck!
I have those awesome containers that stack and screw into each other...love them!! I also found little jars at IKEA that keep me organized.
