What in the world?!?!

Ok I am a little late sharing this but today has been a crazy day! It was a crazy week last week with a speeding ticket on Monday (no job) and a car accident on Wed (my fault) and then my son gets a ticket on Saturday night and then to top it off Sunday I lose my dog on keys (yes the whole set)! I can’t find them ANYWYERE - WHAT IN THE WORLD?! I have been borrowing a friend’s car as my new car keys (to the tune of $48) per BMW dealership won't be delivered until Thursday! Go figure!

Well to make things so much better, I found $45 that I hid from myself while looking for my keys so that paid for the replacement car key at least! And what is just as exciting is on Blockhead Rod's radio show last night I won TWO prizes with the most exciting prize being 12 months of free advertisement for a whole year on Blockheadradio’s new website AND I won a WOOT button from the King Plugger Lugger. It was hilarious to see Agoodwitchtoo teasing everyone in the chat room by giving false alarms for the key to call in to win! When Huckleberry Arts finally posted the key phrase to call, I was on it! I was also encouraged that Fluttering Designs shared about my win on her blog! I absolutely love the Pluggers United Team for their “Pay it Forward” and helping hands spirit!

I am most grateful that in spite of all the challenges of the past few weeks, I have undoubtedly received some great kisses!

Pluggers United Team - Come Join us

Block Head Rod and group have gone and done it again! They have figured out just one more way to promote and encourage Artisans helping other Artisans! We are starting a new Etsy team called Pluggers United team. Pluggers United is all about Artisan’s supporting other Artisan’s! Membership is easy. Just go to the team Yahoo group.

In the group you can share ideas, links, sales, etc. This group is open to everybody that sells on Etsy. It will be a friendly group and moderators will see to that. Being a part of the Yahoo group is a requirement for joining the team. We discuss ways to promote, what the market is doing, shameless plugs, blogging, cross promotions, and more.

What will Pluggers United do as a team?

• Monthly radio show for just the team.

• Sharing ideas on promotions.

• Team sales

• Charity work

• Sell another team members listing :) Yep, you will try and get a sale for another team member.

Ain't It Awful?

Now who says that? You guessed it! The keep you laughing Block Head Radio Show co-host A Good Witch Too! Love her to pieces! The show on Monday night was awesome! Those two hours went by so very fast! We got to hear from Linda of LDPhotography but as we tend to do, she shared far more about her passion of working with children with ADHD than her beautiful photography! We all learned a lot. How does she find time to do it all? Someone in the chat room kept typing “Butt Bubbles” (was that you Tilt?) so poor Rod had to keep playing that horrid sound – LOL!

We sang Happy Birthday with the most hilarious song to A Sew Happy Designs and acknowledged Roseworks Jewelry and Unique Commodities birthday! Uhh does anybody remember what Sew Happy reported about - LOL? I was too busy goofing off in the chat rooms (sorry Sew Happy)! Tulip’s Treasure Box won the Fast fingers shout out! Woot to TulipT! Fluttering Designs won the week’s give away (a gorgeous ornament) provided by The Magic Sleigh.

Be sure to join the new group on Yahoo started by Block Head Radio! It will be a great way to market/socialize with fellow artisans and the awesome Huckleberry Arts is running the site!

All in all it was a phenomenal show and if you haven’t joined yet then you are missing out on the most exciting radio show in the history of radio shows!

Make A Plan - How do I intend to use my blog for promotions and sales?

One thing I learned from the Block Head Rod Talk show was that I needed to sit down and make a plan for how I intended to use my blog for promotions and sales. How do I want it to look and how do I promote? Funny thing is I NEVER did this. I created my blog in order to be a part of the Etsybloggers team. I did start to enjoy it once I got started but my purpose and focus have evolved since I started blogging. With all that said I took John’s words to heart. Fact is I have felt quite aimless the past few months..not knowing what I am doing and why, joining everything under the sun with no sense of purpose though everything I joined has the potential to serve to advance my business. So where do I go from here? Well first things first. I need to be a student and take John’s advice.

How do I intend to use my blog for promotions and sales?

Promote other sites with the first priority being to my Etsybloggers Team members. Goal: Driver bloggers to my blogsite and then to my Etsy Store hopefully to make a purchase
Allow other artist (Etsy or not) to advertise on my site. I am a little green at this so will ask John the best way to go about this because truly I am clueless though know that I want to have multiple means of income.
Share my personal life – I want the readers/bloggers to see that I am a real person with struggles and joys just like the rest of the world. I want to be personable.
Post pics of my items as I create them. Allows the customer to see my creative process and know that it truly is hand made and to see that I work hard to develop a quality product. Besides I know people are quite visual!
Post actual sales items on my shop – Now UNTIL John mentioned this I SERIOUSLY never thought about it. I think I was more intimidated by the thought of figuring out how to do it than anything. Now that I know I have access to support and based on John’s explanation that it really is not that difficult! I am ready to give it a try.
BLOG CONSISTENTLY – I know that the more I blog, the more exposure I will get and hopefully the more sales I will get!
Networking with other Bloggers – Use my blog by whatever means to meet other bloggers and creative artist to learn from, share experiences and ideas with. I am confident this will help my sales and build upon my blog exposure!

The Block Head Radio Show ROCKS!

Yesterday was my first time participating in the Blockhead Rod Radio Show! It was a very positive experience! What is funny is I had no clue what I was supposed to do so I call into the number posted on the site and ended up being a guest on the show. LOL! That is what I get for being the unknowing new kid on the block! LOL! Good thing though because now I have no fear of calling in and will surely do it more often. ‘Blockhead’ – I mean “John”—LOL gave an incredible training on Making that Blog Sell Part 1.

I joined Blockhead Rod, A Good Witch Too, Sew Happy Designs, and Huckleberry Arts for a fabulous night of education and fun! A Good Witch lovingly jeered at John. John and his wife Huckleberry Arts sit in the same room and host the show. I think that is sooo sweet! The chat room was full of energy. Debra Linker won the Artisan Challenge. I won the fast fingers contest. What that means is when Huckleberry Arts types in Fast fingers in the chat room - the first person to get their shop/blog typed in the chat room gets their shop announced on the show. Exceptional benefit in that many people listen to the show after it is over! Tilt Creations answered the Trivia question correctly and won the chat room giveaway prize which was a beautiful Magenta Butterfly Limited Edition Block Print by Blockhead Rod. All in all - it was an incredible show!

I enjoyed it and look forward to the next! Hats off to the Block Head Rod team members!
